Apparound celebrates its 10th anniversary

It’s an all-Italian success story, the one of Apparound, founded in 2008 by Gianluca Cagiano, now at the helm of the company. The Tuscany-based IT company, which decided to settle in the Innovation Hub at Montacchiello (Pisa’s very own Digital Valley), has quickly grown into one of Italy’s leading players, on a par with the biggest European and US corporations


Pisa, 22nd June 2018 – The idea for the business occurred years ago, when Gianluca Cagiano realised that many companies often make substantial investments in complicated CRM tools and other automation software, without, however, successfully increasing the productivity of their sales network. So, the company started to develop a software solution built around the sellers’ needs.

It was with Vodafone that they made the first agreements for development and the first customised versions of the app, until they officially partnered in 2012 and the product was distributed to all of the Business sales force.

Apparound’s bet is on supporting the companies’ sales processes by bringing the seller’s most useful tools together into one single solution, so they can do the job in the best possible way while increasing the overall effectiveness of the sales network.

Since the first experience with the ICT multinational, Apparound has decided to invest in its product and focus on business sales processes. Design, innovation and user-friendliness have made Apparound an all-Italian outstanding success. A technologically complex product turned into a simple, user-friendly tool that has revolutionised the experience of dozens of thousands of sellers and buyers and has impressed companies of any kind and size.

With its innovative cloud-based software, Apparound assists sellers throughout the sales cycle: from the pitching of the marketing materials as digital contents (brochures, videos, etc.) to offer configuration, through to the closing of the deal and the finalisation of the order by means of digital signature.

The company’s constant growth in terms of product development, turnover and staff keeps attracting new customers and causing a stir. This is proven by the fact that Fabio Vaccarono, Managing Director of Google Italy, joined Apparound’s Board in 2015, to further boost the company’s growth.

“In the last 10 years, Apparound has focussed on assisting its customers and developing a cloud-based product, which requires no special IT skills to be implemented”, Gianluca Cagiano, CEO of Apparound, stated. “Building on our experience in developing customised products for our clients, we decided to industrialise the software and produce a more standardised version. To do this, the company went through dramatic change, with substantial investments in organisation and resources. Nowadays, we have successfully turned a complex, usually expensive, technology into something accessible to any company, even the smallest ones.”

Nowadays, Apparound has over 90 employees and has become Tuscany’s go-to place for employment and training too. Since 2015, the Pisa-based company has seen its workforce increase by 42%, many of whom graduates from the local universities. Partnerships have been recently set up with Pisa’s universities to share labs and writing theses at the company. Other outstanding initiatives include a specific degree in “mobile and cloud architectures for enterprise applications” at the IT Faculty and sponsoring a postgraduate course at the Faculty of Economics in Pisa (the next master’s degree will end in two weeks’ time, with Apparound giving an award to the best “Project Work” developed for the “Marketing Game”, at the end of the postgraduate course in Marketing and Management).
